Local Voice Teacher Selected for Lyric Opera Chorus

Corinne Wallace has grown up in the Plainfield area and graduated from PHS-Central when it was still the only high school in town.  Since that time, she has devoted her life to singing and teaching others to sound better.  She recently realized the dream of a lifetime when she was selected for a spot in the world-renowned Lyric Opera Chorus.   She will be appearing in performances of Carmen and Lohengrin this summer at the Chicago Civic Opera House.

She has appeared as a solo performer with Central City Opera (Denver), Chamber Opera (Chicago), San Francisco Lyric Opera, Kane Community Opera, and Vox Opera (Chicago).  Corinne has been written up in Opera News for her work in The Saint of Bleeker Street, The Ballad of Baby Doe, and The Coronation of Poppea.  Additional information is available at her website: www.corinnewallace.com.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Music from Lewis University, and a Masters Degree in Vocal Pedagogy/Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.  She is also on the teaching staff of Bristol Grove Music in Plainfield and enjoys teaching students of all ages.  For more information, please call (815) 439-1743.

Immediately preceding the beginning of the new season, auditions are held to fill any vacancies existing in the orchestra. Depending upon the needs of the orchestra, students may audition after the season has begun. Students are asked to play a solo and scales; sight-reading is also required. This is a great opportunity for middle school and high school musicians who are looking for a real challenge. Some current and former Bristol Grove students are actively involved with this group. We highly recommend MYSO for any advancing band students.
